Ryan has lived in Las Vegas for the last 15 years, and has three children attending public schools in Nevada. He first relocated to Nevada to attend the William S. Boyd School of Law at UNLV and later began practicing law in Las Vegas after completing his legal studies. In 2010, Ryan was invited to serve on a committee to form a new public charter school, where he experienced first-hand the challenges of trying to open a new public charter school. Shortly thereafter, he accepted a position with Academica, a charter school service company which is focused on providing legal, accounting, finance, human resources and facility support services to public charter schools to help them open and succeed.
He is now the COO of Academica Nevada, proudly supporting the operations of Doral Academy of Nevada, Somerset Academy of Las Vegas, Mater Academy of Nevada, Pinecrest Academy of Nevada, and SLAM! (Sports Leadership and Management) Academy. Mr. Reeves currently serves on the Board of Directors of two not-for-profit organizations dedicated to supporting school choice through public charter schools, the Charter School Association of Nevada (CSAN) and the ACE (Achieving through Choice in Education) Foundation.
